About Elfenshot

Elfenshot Films is based in South-East Melbourne, currently producing short films, web series and music videos. Members of our crew have transitioned into much bigger roles within the industry and are now professional. This is something that we are very proud of.

Over the course of a couple of years, our motto has become “we’re not hiring a RED”, although we don’t know exactly where this has evolved from. We are also probably going to change it, as the upward trajectory of our projects is going to require a larger investment into cinematography.

2014 saw Elfenshot’s first short film, ‘Diffraction’, completed and entered for Tropfest, where, in an absolute shock for a first-time effort, it… wasn’t a finalist. But it was a lot of fun. Thomas Kay, Sarah Attrill, Brendan Hill and Tony Adams were the talent.

Our second short was in 2015, with ‘Narrators’. Tony Adams, Christine Husband, Elizabeth O’Callaghan, Will Sutherland and WD Stephens starred.

Our third short film was completed in 2017 and titled ‘The Trebek Technique’. Brydi Frances, Katy Nethercote and Elizabeth O’Callaghan were the main cast, with Will Sutherland, David Hart, Udara David, Claire Pickering and Rob Hall all supporting.

Apprev.’ represents Elfenshot Films’ first foray into a dramatic short film. A much bigger cast and crew was also on hand to help tell the story, with Adam Rowland and Lara Deam headlining.

Diffraction, Narrators, The Trebek Technique, and Apprev.  were written and directed by Damian Harris, with Christine Harris 1st assistant director. Music for all shorts has been by Murray Hyde.

During the worldwide lockdowns of 2020-21, we wrote a short for groups of six actors to interpret a script in their own way, called ‘Covidrama’.

They filmed themselves whilst in isolation, without any direction, nor knowing who was playing the other roles. We gave them little direction other than a schematic of the room layout, and have been constantly blown away by their talent.
